The University of Silesia has been participating in the Erasmus+ programme (formerly Socrates programme) since 1998, i.e. since the beginning of the program in Poland. So far, 3607 people have gone to study as part of the programme, and 566 have taken part in international internships.

ERASMUS+ programme initially planned for years 2014-2020 has been extended because of the Covid-19 pandemic for one more year. In 2021 we are entering the newest 6-year phase of the Erasmus+ programme planned for years 2021-2027.
Socrates is Europe's education programme and involves 31 European countries. Its main objective is to build up a Europe of knowledge: to promote life long learning, encourage access to education for everybody and help people acquire recognised qualifications and skills.
