Chicago Footnotes and Bibliography The Chicago Notes System, developed by the University of Chicago, is widely used by the social sciences and sciences disciplines. Bibliographic citations are provided in short notes (in this style, footnotes), supplemented by a bibliography which includes all works cited in the notes.
