Look out for emails from email addresses that are not using Skyscanner company domains e.g. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, usa.com, etc. Be vigilant about ads promoted on social media (particularly Facebook and Instagram) that offer cheap flights and collect your contact details.

Skyscanner is just a search/comparison site so prices being displayed may not be live or even real. Lots of crappy third parties will put low prices on it precisely to 'bait' people who don't realise or accept this.
