Saudia Flight 163 was a scheduled Saudia passenger flight departing from Quaid-E-Azam Airport in Karachi, Pakistan, bound for Kandara Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, via Riyadh International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which caught fire after takeoff from Riyadh International Airport (now the Riyadh Air Base) on 19 August 1980.
22 sty 2023 · Saudia flight 163 set off from Karachi, Pakistan bound for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It was to turn around in Riyadh for refueling and to allow some passengers to disembark. The Lockheed L-1011-200 Tristar performed the first leg of the journey uneventfully and then set off again for Jeddah. There were 287 passengers onboard.
28 maj 2006 · As mentioned in this post, I just came across the shocking details of Saudia 163 in which 301 sadly perished in August 1980. If you've not heard of this before, you'll be dumbfounded at the complete incompetence that was apparently displayed by the flight crew of this aircraft.

On 12 November 1996, Saudia Flight 763, a Boeing 747 en route from Delhi, India, to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and Kazakhstan Airlines Flight 1907, an Ilyushin Il-76 en route from Chimkent, Kazakhstan, to Delhi, collided over the city of Charkhi Dadri, around 100 km (62 mi; 54 nmi) west of Delhi.
