For optimal compatibility with applicant tracking systems, I would suggest using either Microsoft Word or Google Docs to create your resume and submitting in a docx file format. If you go to this subs wiki, you will find a link to a G docs template.
If you want to make sure it's free before filling out all your credentials, download a resume template instead. If it's a paid template, you will know it upfront.
