To reserve a pass, see the Entry Passes (tickets) page. Members can show their member card for walk-in entry to the Zoo, no passes needed. Parking requires a reservation.

There is a new free zoo shuttle bus from Woodley Park Station — so definitely use that metro station. Shuttle will stop in front of zoo and inside it. You can return to metro from either stop (shuttle will operate through end of September 2019 at this point.)
Tour reservations for individuals, families and small groups (15 or fewer people) and groups featuring more than 15 participants can be booked on the Capitol’s official website. Individuals and small groups can reserve 90 days in advance, while large group reservations can be booked 120 days in advance at 8 a.m. EST.
28 lut 2022 · Space is limited to ten people on the standard tour. Reservations are not required, but they are strongly encouraged. To make a reservation, visit recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777. There is a $1.00 fee for each reserved ticket. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance.

Many of Washington, DC's major attractions are open to the public and do not require tickets, including the Smithsonian museums, the National Gallery of Art, and the monuments and memorials on the National Mall. Entry to the Smithsonian Zoo is free but requires an entry pass.
