  1. Honestly, I find it to look better to leave graphics options up high (except I run on fast) and only render 16 chunks or less. This is plenty of distance to be able to explore and play the game. My computer can run at 32 chunks but I still don't do it because it seems unneccessary.

Once you have optifine or if you don't get optifine either way you can change your view distance by going in esc then raise your render distance in there to the max.

  7. there should be an option to just cast a few rays into the chunks not loaded, and give you a rough veiw of them, then you could see all out into the distance and it wouldnt take a high spec computer. Just an idea :)
