Helicopter flight controls are used to achieve and maintain controlled aerodynamic helicopter flight. Changes to the aircraft flight control system transmit mechanically to the rotor, producing aerodynamic effects on the rotor blades that make the helicopter move in a desired way.

The cyclic – sometimes called the stick – controls the altitude and airspeed of the helicopter. The movement of the cyclic alters the tilt of the rotor disc, which is the hypothetical disc the rotors make when they are turning.
For the newer pilot the instruction manual has some good instructions explaining the basic flight controls that were well explained. The instruction manual can be viewed on the Heli-Max website and a written copy came with the Huey.
