12 cze 2024 · The Great Circle Mapper displays maps and computes distances along a geodesic path. It includes an extensive, searchable database of airports and other locations.
Great Circle Map displays the shortest route between airports and calculates the distance. It draws geodesic flight paths on top of Google maps, so you can create your own route map.
download newest file from http://www.greg-hand.com/versions/. Install it in a directory where files can be written. (In newer Windows versions you cannot create files in the Program folder) The default is to install it in c:\itshfbc. Older version: GcmWin Beta 3.1.5 2010-01-24.
Look at the lower right for link to maps (20 MB download). Resize it to max 10000 pixels wide to be able to use it reliably in GcmWin. You can use this program to make Great Circle maps from any location in the world. The program has become quite popular and it is totally free! It is now in beta stage and may be lacking some features. You are welcome to download and test it and perhaps give some feedback! There is also a Linux version!
