Cross-country flights are flights conducted outside of the local area, defined as flying greater than 50 NM from the departure airport.
27 lip 2023 · For students moving toward their private pilot certificate, the FAA spells out the requirements for cross-country training specific to the category and class of aircraft involved. The regulation covering cross-country training for private pilots is 14 CFR 61.109 and is sorted according to the class involved.
(i) Conducting a solo cross-country flight, or any flight greater than 25 nautical miles from the airport from where the flight originated. (ii) Making a solo flight and landing at any location other than the airport of origination.
The FAA has at least seven different definitions of what is a cross-country and what is not a cross-country. The usual definition is a flight between two airports that are more than 50 nautical miles apart, but there are several variations of the rule.
