The villages are all just minutes apart from one another, and trains frequently run, especially from spring to fall. A one-way ticket between two destinations costs 4 euros (as of May 2020).

All other trails are free! The Cinque Terre Express trains are running every 20 minutes between the five villages. You can also enjoy this scenic coastline by taking the ferry and hop on and off where you like. Monterosso. Monterosso is the largest of the five towns and has the most amenities. Beach-lovers should definitely stay here.

Spring season is even an ideal time to experience good weather for hiking and swimming. Temperatures in spring range from an average of 18–21ºC/63–70ºF.

If you look at them on Google Maps, the villages literally line up next to each other along the coast. Starting from the north, there’s Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.
