29 sty 2016 · For anyone not familiar, it lets you start a line, say, two inches along one that’s already established, or end a line a foot from the point or line you are approaching. You can set a circle center three inches along the x axis from a given object, etc.
With the Tape Measure tool (), you can measure a distance and set precise guide lines or guide points.
14 sie 2023 · You can start by placing a guide point at x=5 and y=5 by starting from the origin and typing <5,5,0>. You could also just move the object to that point by typing [5,5,0] after starting the move. <x,y,z> gives you relative coordinates, [x,y,z] gives you absolute coordinates.
To help you do that, LayOut includes several tools and features, including a grid, inference cues, and an Arrange menu. When you select an entity, its bounding box has tools for moving, rotating, and scaling the entity, or you can use the keyboard or the Measurements box to enter precise changes.
18 gru 2015 · I often want to use an imaginary point half way between two others (to rotate, mirror, copy, etc). My workaround is to draw a line between the points, use the centrepoint, then delete the line. Admittedly, that doesn’t take long but it would be much faster to have the facility inbuilt or an extension that was dedicated to the task.
Select the Offset tool () or press the F key. Click one of your selected line segments or the face you want to offset. Move the cursor to define the offset dimension. Note that the distance of the offset appears in the Measurements box.
7 lip 2015 · The Line tool draws lines: you can specify their length as you work, or edit them later in Entity Info etc. The Tapemeasure tool is used to measure distances between two points: it can also be used to scale the model and create guide-lines and points.
