The City of Brampton is responsible for billing and collecting property taxes. It is also responsible to bill and collect taxes for the Regional Municipality of Pe el and the local school boards. Property taxes are levied twice a year by an Interim and Final Notice.
Property taxes are levied twice a year by an Interim and Final Notice. The Interim billing reflects taxes due for the first six months of the year billed with three instalment due dates. The Final billing reflects taxes due for the last six months of the year, also with three instalment due dates.

You pay property taxes to the municipal government to support the City of Brampton and the Region of Peel services, and help fund education. The City sends out tax bills twice annually. It usually sends out interim bills, based on 50 per cent of the previous year’s taxes, in January for February, March and April payments.
Your final tax bill is based on your 2024 phased-in assessment value and reflects any changes in municipal taxes and the education portion of your taxes. The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is responsible for placing a value on all properties in Ontario.
