1 lip 2005 · You will have to put several thousand miles on the vehicle to make up what you have spent for economizing the engine. I went through that with a 75 Granada. It had a 302, and the gas mileage was terrible. To fix the situation, I bought a Holley Economizer 2 bbl carb, paying close to $200 for it.
21 kwi 2009 · I've got a 1971 ford f100 with a 302/4spd and a 1988 jeep Comanche with a 242 (4.0L)/auto. The ford gets better milage, especially when i hot rod it around town. I know my school is 4 miles away, and i hot rod it there and back, and in 4 days, theres a 1/4 tank.
23 lip 2011 · If the engine is tuned properly you'll be pulling about as much as you can good exhuast system can help pull a extra 1-2 mpg. Most of the EFI and OD equipped vehicles are not pulling anymore mileage than a properly tuned carbed vehicle.

13 cze 2012 · Anyone have any suggestions for improving gas mileage on an old 302? I'm thinking all the run of the mill stuff like upgrade the air filter, better flow through the exhaust, tune up with top notch plugs and wires.
8 sie 2011 · With a stock 302 and an AOD overdrive transmission installed, you will probably be able to outdo that i6 gas mileage or at least be right about the same. With an era correct transmission it would be around 15+mpg (rough figure) in stock condition.
