Goo gone just makes it slimy and harder to remove. Eraser wheel and adhesive remover for any leftover residue. 3M adhesive remover but be careful with getting it on anything other than paint! I have had good luck with Goo Gone or Lift Off. Saturate, let soak, wipe, repeat.

I'd say regardless of using 3M Adhesive Remover or Goo Gone, it all depends on the condition of your clear coat. Once you're done, definitely need to apply sealant/wax over the area. +1
