Wolf Creek Pass crosses the Continental Divide in Colorado between South Fork and Pagosa Springs. Drivers can expect a 7% grade on the western side of the pass at the steepest points, and less on eastern side. This pass is traversed by HWY 160 as it travels by the Wolf Creek Ski Area.
Deep within the San Juan Mountains, Wolf Creek Pass is a steep and beautiful mountain pass in Southwest Colorado. The pass falls right along the Great Continental Divide. and can be traversed via US 160 between the towns of South Fork and Pagosa Springs.
Know how far you'll travel. Drivers will travel more than eight miles from the summit (near the Wolf Creek Ski Area) to the west base of the Pass (near Treasure Falls). Identify public-access roads. Points of access along the Pass include a ski area, forest roads and a public scenic lookout.
Confirmed closures to remain in effect through Thursday, Feb., 23 include: CO 145 Lizard Head Pass (MP 48 - MP 61), between Rico and Trout Lake. US 160 Wolf Creek Pass (MP 157- MP 184), between Pagosa Springs and South Fork.
Wolf Creek Pass is a high Mountain Pass located on Highway 160. It became a legendary drive when CW McCall released a song of the same name memorializing the pass. The pass is the main connection between Pagosa Springs and Alamosa.
