The USCIS Form I-90, officially titled “Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card,” is a crucial document used by lawful permanent residents (green card holders) to renew or replace their Permanent Resident Cards (green cards).
Permanent residents use Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, to replace or renew a green card. By law, permanent residents age 18 and older must have a valid, unexpired green card (or equivalent identification) at all times.
Application Type. NOTE: If your conditional permanent resident status (for example: CR1, CR2, CF1, CF2) is expiring within the next 90 days, then do not file this application. (See the What is the Purpose of This Application section of the Form I-90 Instructions for further information.)
To apply for a Green Card renewal (Form I-90), you must submit a completed Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, along with the applicable filing fee and evidence of your continued permanent residence.
