27 cze 2009 · Just get a $10 INA idler pulley, replace it as a preventive measure, and be done with it for another xx thousand miles. I have seen enough posts what a bad idler pulley can do, especially if you are in the middle of nowhere. It is the plastics that tend to crack over time.
The idler pulley is one of a set of pulleys which drive the belt system in a vehicle. It provides a smoothly rotating point, preventing slack therefore allowing the engine belt drive to move and loop around. It has a component called a sheave or wheel which has a groove which runs along its end.
6 gru 2009 · Remove part of the intake over the fan and radiator, this is done by taking a flathead screwdriver and prying the middle pieces out of the clip, the removing the rest of the clip as highlighted in the picture below.
