3 lut 2024 · The Intercape Mainliner is possibly the best bus I've ever been on. This was my first long distance trip and I couldn't be more happy with the state of bus. It was clean, spacious and the drive was super safe.
Not being too concerned with the negative reviews of INTERCAPE mainliner bus / coach service, I booked a trip from Cape Town to Durban, to leave on Friday the 24 June 2024 at 09h00. The bus arrived well before the time and the passengers booked in their luggage etc.
I am travelling on bus 233 Sleepliner from Pretoria to Grootbrak - 19, 5 hours of travelling on a bus filled to capacity. Intercape claims extra legspace on the sleepliner. This is total deception. The 2nd row left on the top deck has a maximum of 8cm legspace when the front row reclines (which is all the time).

I booked Intercape bus online for my group from Pretoria to Durban (overnight on the bus). First, the staff was not very friendly right at the beginning.
Intercape offers 3 different ticket classes: SAVER, FLEXI, and FULL FLEXI. SAVER tickets offer the best fares, however have limited availability and are more restrictive when it come to cancelling or changing a booking. Book early to take advantage of SAVER fares.
