A true line in geometry is infinitely long in both directions.
The midpoint will be calculated as: (5 + 9)/2 = 14/2 = 7. So, 7 is the midpoint of 5 and 9. We would apply the same logic to find the midpoint of a line segment with its endpoints, (x 1, y 1) and (x 2, y 2) on a coordinate plane. For any line segment, the midpoint is halfway between its two endpoints.
