The total numbers of persons who died of influenza in Spain were officially 147,114 in 1918, 21,235 in 1919, and 17,825 in 1920. However, it is likely that >260,000 Spaniards influenza; 75% of these persons died during the second period of the epidemic, and 45% died 1918 alone.
