E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (or simply E.T.) is a 1982 American science fiction film produced and directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Melissa Mathison. It tells the story of Elliott, a boy who befriends an extraterrestrial, dubbed E.T., who is left behind on Earth.
An alien is left behind on Earth and saved by the 10-year-old Elliot who decides to keep him hidden in his home. While a task force hunts for the extra-terrestrial, Elliot, his brother, and his little sister Gertie form an emotional bond with their new friend, and try to help him find his way home.

E.T. the Extra Terrestrial is a UK VHS released by CIC Video and Universal on 24th October 1988 for rental and 5th December 1988 for retail. It got re-released by CIC and Universal with Widescreen on 18th October 1993 and 29th December 1997. It got re-released as a 'BT Exclusive' by Universal on 22nd May 2000.
