The Oakland Park Fire Rescue Department provides fire suppression and advanced life support emergency medical services to the City of Oakland Park. Specialty services such as hazardous materials and technical rescue are provided through regional teams available through a countywide mutual aid system.
July 4 Parade. The many dimensions of diversity in Oak Park are on display when the annual Independence Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. on July 4 from Longfellow Park at Ridgeland Avenue and Adams Street.

The Fire Department responds to fire calls, vehicle accidents and assists EMS with medical calls within the city limits. We provide other emergency services such as responding to hazardous materials incidents, confined space rescue, and natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods.
In addition to the special events at Heritage Park, Christmas on the Square, held downtown in late November/ early December, is an outdoor Christmas festival reminiscent of a European-style Christmas market. The nearby community of Wellborn hosts a Blueberry Festival in early June.
The City of Ocoee Parks and Recreation Department will host Evening with Santa on Friday, December 6, 2024. The event will be held from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm at the Ocoee Lakeshore Center. Come enjoy a visit with Santa and his special guests, share Christmas wishes, pictures, and much more. Space is limited (Registration Dates to Be Announced).
