Protecting a vast expanse of prairies and pine flatwoods east of Interstate 75 and the Myakka River, Carlton Reserve is where Sarasota County gets its drinking water. Established in 1984, the preserve covers more than 25,000 acres east of the populated areas of the county, in the lowlands of the Myakka River basin.
1800 Mabry Carlton Pkwy, Venice, FL 37292 (941) 861-5000. The Reserve has more than 80 miles of hiking trails. The 12 mile Myakka Island Wilderness Trail, connects the Carlton Reserve with Myakka River State Park Reserve. Equestrian trails are provided.
5 lip 2020 · Here is a list of the county's keys in order from north to south: Longboat Key. The elusive Longboat Key is beloved by many and keeps even locals intrigued. The narrow beach, bordered by the Gulf and Sarasota Bay, is mostly private, though there is limited public beach access.
