11 lis 2021 · It is about two miles (three kilometers) south of the Donner Summit highway rest area on I-80. The road winds 18 miles (29 kilometers) between Truckee and the Rainbow/Big Bend exit (number 168) off of the interstate. Donner Pass Road crosses a beautiful concrete arch bridge just east of the summit.
Interstate 80 over the Sierra Crest travels through some breathtaking scenery. But heavy traffic at high speeds take most of the fun out of riding a motorcycle on this road. It is also a major truck route, so expect large numbers of slow-moving big rigs on the uphill grades.
