at&t trade in program is a scam If you trade in a phone for "credits" such as 50% off a phone, or even a "Free iPhone" you cannot get out of that deal for minimum 3 years (36 months). You cannot pay the phone or balance off early or your "credits" will disappear.
File an FCC complaint online, someone from the AT&T Office of the President will call you back within a few days to work with you and get this sorted. This is especially strange because you started getting the credits, which typically doesn’t happen until they’ve already validated the trade-in.
