It has the ability to have tactical positioning on maps which is something I enjoy in TTRPGs. My question is about removing squares completely and using free measurements instead. I've played Warhammer before and I like how you can just use a tape measure to move instead of staying within squares.

A map’s scale indicates the relationship between the distances on the map and the actual distances on the ground. For example, a map with a scale of 1:50,000 means that one unit of distance on the map represents 50,000 units of distance on the ground.
Idea for distance measurements So in the game I tend to see people use blocks as distance which makes sense but over far distances it gets harder as your saying "oh my base is 8500 blocks away" I feel like it could be done better so, I made, a Hectoblock, which is 100 blocks, so instead of 8500 blocks its just 85 hectoblocks.
