23 cze 2024 · When booting via BIOS / INT13h(?) into DOS over USB with a 1.2-MB formatted 5.25" disk, things appear to work smoothly. I can run scandisk.exe (with zero bad sectors, hooray) and at the prompt, swap disks and commands like "dir" work as expected.

So if you can confirm a model having a true Ready signal please post here. I try to contribute by myself, but research goes slow. Any help appreciated.
12 cze 2024 · There were hybrid CD+3.5" floppy drives that fit in a half-height footprint. I didn't think that they were ever popular, but the CD stuck in a 5.25" drive doesn't really surprise me. I wonder how many folks though that a CD drive tray made a convenient cup holder...
