Hi! I'm renting a car soon and was wondering if anyone has used their own insurance instead of purchasing the insurance offered by Hertz. Has anyone had experience with this?
24 cze 2024 · Anyone booking a car rental in Italy needs to know that basic Collision Damage Waiver car insurance is mandatory. This protects you against any liabilities caused while driving in Italy, such as those resulting in injury to others, property damage, or even death.
You need to know if the renter purchased the Hertz waiver for liability of collision damage. If they have, you're stuck with the limits of what the renter paid. If they haven't, you can file thru the renter of the Hertz vehicle's insurance but their limits are the most you can file for. Limits are limits.

Standard coverage if you book through their Norwegian websites is third party and CDW with an excess of around NOK10000++. At the counter you can buy extra insurance to reduce the excess, but you are not required to. Reply.

And I think you have it bring back to Germany, otherwise it would cost a huge extra fee. And you'd need an IDP for driving through Austria and Croatia. For anything read exactly their T+C.
