We would be open to other areas if they might offer something “better.”. First time there so I have no way to compare the villages.

23 maj 2024 · 16 posts. Any of the hikes into the hills are less crowded than the hikes into the five main towns. There is a hike that goes from Corniglia to Manarola via Volastra is a nice hike that gets off the main route. We did a hike up to Telegrapho (I think this is the correct name).
6 maj 2024 · Train Journey Time. Don’t worry about finding a seat! From La Spezia, Cinque Terre can be reached within 10 minutes on the train. The distance in between each village is also only a few kms, making the journey time from village to village very quick.

Rome to Cinque Terre: +-400km (250 miles), 4,5 hours by car and about 4 hours by train. Venice to Cinque Terre: +-400 km (250 miles), 4,5 hours by car and 5,5-7 hours by train.
25 maj 2024 · There are three ways to visit Cinque Terre: by boat, by train, or a combination of boat and/or train and hiking. The train is the fastest way to get around with lots of trains connecting the five villages at regular intervals throughout the day. The boat takes much longer, but gives you a different perspective.
