BA tends to be very protective of their premium cabins and protecting the exclusivity and the revenue. I have some legs on a flight on BA booked via AA and the app says 'Upgrades not offered on other airlines' when I try to look at the paid upgrade offers. Just what title says.

10 cze 2024 · As long as there is at least 1 business class seat for sale then AA will offer the buy-up upgrades, of course the price will vary. But there is zero correlation between AA offering buy-up upgrades and upgrade space being available for miles/copay. Two completely different things.

Is it me or are system wide upgrades useless? I'm exec platinum and I can use these SW upgrades on a flight to a small airport, but why? I'll get upgraded anyway.
