Wolf Trap Opera is one of the nation’s most highly regarded residency program for emerging professionals in the opera business. The young artists on our roster sing all roles in our productions. Our main venue is The Barns at Wolf Trap, and our parent organization is The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.
The Wolf Trap Opera Company (sometimes abbreviated WTOC) was founded in 1971 as part of the program of the Wolf Trap Foundation located near the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Fairfax County, Virginia.
One hour before each opera performance at The Barns, Wolf Trap Opera takes you Inside the Opera. Lively 30-minute preshow talks help clarify opera plots, provide a sampling of music, and introduce you to the artists and design of each production. Learn more.
