The IHSA Constitution and By-laws are the framework of rules that govern interscholastic competition among IHSA member schools. Every provision of the Constitution and every By-law was voted into effect by the membership and can be changed only by a vote of the membership.

The IHSA’s rules have been adopted by the high schools which are members of IHSA as part of the Association’s constitution and by-laws. They must be followed as minimum standards for all interscholastic athletic competition in any member high school.
