The most important thing for HVAC tends to be the quality of the installer. Goodman is a cheap line, and often is installed by less competent people, per statements here and my own observation. I've seen goodman last 20 years, and goodman last 5 years.

Today I just swapped a heat exchanger on a 9 year Goodman… it was totally blown out, didn’t trip the rollout. 30ppm CO in the supply air. I was out there to replace the inducer motor because it was very loud, I noticed some other oddity’s so I inspected it.

Goodman no longer exists as a stand alone company, but the brand is and will be very much in use for a while as the bottom rung as Daikin's ladder of Brands (Goodman, Amana, Daikin). Please don't make it seem like if the guy buys a Goodman, all support for it will cease to exist.
