The de Young Museum, formally the M. H. de Young Memorial Museum, is a fine arts museum located in San Francisco, California. Located in Golden Gate Park, it is a component of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, along with the Legion of Honor. The de Young is named for early San Francisco newspaperman M. H. de Young.
Overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge from its home in Lincoln Park and featuring European, ancient, graphic, and contemporary art, the Legion of Honor has welcomed visitors for nearly a century.
The de Young, designed by Herzog & de Meuron and located in Golden Gate Park, is the nation’s fifth most visited art museum. Hours. Monday: Closed. Tuesday – Sunday: 9:30 am – 5:15 pm. Tickets. Members: Free. Youth (17 and under): Free. Adults: $20. Seniors (65+): $17. Students (w/ valid ID): $11. Wilsey Court, the de Young Museum Store, the de Young Café, and the Hamon Observation Tower do not require a ticket for entry.
