The Protestant community at the U.S. Air Force Academy is home to a vibrant group of cadets that offers worship services (traditional and contemporary), community building, retreats, pastoral care and religious education.
Soaring 150 feet toward the Colorado sky, the Cadet Chapel at the Air Force Academy Chapel is an all-faith house of worship designed to meet the spiritual needs of cadets and staff. It contains a separate chapel for Protestant, Catholic, Jewish and Buddhist faiths, and two all-faiths' worship rooms.
The United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel, completed in 1962, is the distinguishing feature of the Cadet Area at the United States Air Force Academy north of Colorado Springs. It was designed by Walter Netsch of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill of Chicago. Construction was accomplished by Robert E. McKee, Inc., of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The main program requires three distinct and separate entrances chapels: a Protestant chapel with 900 seats, a Catholic chapel with 500 seats, and a Jewish chapel with 100 seats. Each chapel has its own entrance, and services can be maintained simultaneously without interfering with each other.
