You can usually preserve a return to take at a future point, and yes, it usually has to be the same departure/destination as it is the return portion of your trip. I use to love travelocity. Not now!! We booked 4 months in advance for a trip. The airline changed our flight that didn't work for us. We called the number that was provided for us to call. We were on hold for over an hour.
