You can calculate the length of a path, running route, fence, border, or the perimeter of any object that appears on a google map. The distance calculator will then display a measurement of the length in feet, meters, miles and kilometers.
Map or draw a route using our google maps Pedometer to measure the distance of a run, walk or cycle. Find your location by clicking the arrow icon or by entering an address to begin. Alternatively zoom and drag the map using the map controls to pinpoint the start of your route.
You can get a good estimate of the distance walked by timing or pacing. Naismith's Rule (a way of estimating the time to walk a distance when ascents are involved) can help with the timing aspect but is only an estimation of the time taken to walk a certain distance taking ups and down into account.
