All distances measured by using the map and graphic scales are flat distances. Therefore, the distance measured on a map will increase when actually measured on the ground. This must be taken into consideration when navigating across country.
The measurement of an area calculates and displays the area between three or more points on the map. To start measuring an area: Press the ‘Measure distance’ button (button turns blue)
