The only time that's worth it, is if the package deal is dramatically better than booking directly with the airline/property and that you're clear on the terms and conditions (like refunds, changes, etc).
I'll also be going to Medellin in April. A one-way ticket out of Boston is $288-$360 (for an early flight) on the 17th. Airhint says I also have a 65% chance of it coming down but if I was in your shoes I would buy immediately. I may buy in the next few days.
