RuneScape Classic (abbreviated RSC, RS1 or RS Classic), publicly released as a beta on 4 January 2001, is the second version of RuneScape (DeviousMUD being the precursor). It was replaced on 29 March 2004, with what was then known as RuneScape 2.

If you played RuneScape 10 years ago, your progress is likely saved on the "modern" version of the game known as RuneScape 3. OldSchool RuneScape is a separate game which was released as an homage to the 2007 version of the game, and everyone had to start on fresh accounts.
For two weeks starting from today, Classic is open for new sign-ups from RuneScape members only. If you access Classic during this two-week period (using your normal username and password), you will continue to be able to do so after the two weeks are over.
To access the game, players had to search for "Classic" in the search bar and find the RuneScape Classic world select page, which was once located at this URL. From there, the game was initially playable on the browser until they stopped running applets (in 2015).
