I see a lot of negative reviews for DR Horton or similar “budget” builders due to quality concerns. 10 years from now in the 2030s, what will resale of these homes be like? Most negative reviews I see seem to insinuate that the work is low quality and not necessarily built to last.
DR Horton offers new homes at a more affordable price point, but you are absolutely getting what you're paying for (in both the positive and negative sense). If you're buying a $285k DR Horton new build, you can expect it to be about 1400 sqft and very, very basic finishes.

Has anyone heard anything - good or bad - about them LOCALLY, or have first hand experience with them and the quality/reliability of their homes, their sales practices, follow-up on home warranties, repairs etc.?
