Requirements A grade of “C” or better must be achieved in all upper division Geography courses. The Geography major requires at least 39 units of which at least 9 must be at the 400 level.
The Geography M.A. consists of at least 30 units including core requirements (GEOG 596, GEOG 696 and a methods course), a minimum of two topical seminars, electives, and a thesis. A minimum of 21 units of the M.A. degree must be taken at the 500 or 600 level.
We offer two undergraduate degrees the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Geography. We also offer three Certificates – Certificate in Geographic Information Science (GIS), Certificate in Urban Studies, and a Certificate in Geography for Security.

Aim to follow the steps below in order with the goal of completing all courses in Step 1 by the end of the first 3 semesters OR the first 2 semesters for transfers. Courses taken in Steps 2 and 3 do not count for the concentration. Check the College Catalog for course pre-requisites.
The B.S. in Geography includes three distinct pathways: Urban, Environmental and Geospatial, with an additional focus on statistical and methodological approaches to geographic inquiry. The B.S. includes a suite of four lower division (12 units; no prerequisites) and five upper division (16 units) core courses.
