1 mar 2024 · E6B practice. This is a free mini-app from David Megginson for fellow afficionados of the classic aviation E6B circular sliderule (or for student pilots still forced to learn to use it). You can solve practice problems for either the wind side or the calculator side.
This E6B calculator helps pilots to correct their course and speed to account for wind conditions. When you provide ground speed, wind speed, wind direction, and true course, it calculates the wind correction angle, the corrected heading (true heading), and the corrected ground speed.
The Calculators emulate the E6B "Wheel Whiz" flight computer graph chart. Wind Speed Result can be either Knots or MPH based on consistent entry of the same designation.
To move the indexes, click and hold, then spin or slide, or use left/right/up/down arrows on keyboard. To place a dot on the wind index, click on desired location. And here is a link to a digital E6-B emulator, for the digitally minded amongst us: http://www.csgnetwork.com/e6bcalc.html
E6B calculator side. Touch, click, or tap to continue. Times are in hours:minutes. Fuel is in US gallons.
This calculator requires the use of Javascript enabled and capable browsers. It is to emulate some of the capabilities of the popular E6B flight computer. Here is the current NOAA aviation weather .
