Grades 3–10 FAST Reporting. Results for FAST assessments are reported in FRS within 24 hours of the student completing testing. Standard setting took place in Summer 2023 to establish a new scale with Achievement Levels aligned to the B.E.S.T. assessments, including FAST.
The images below describe each level and provide the scale score ranges for each level by grade level/subject test. Please remember that these levels are from the 2021-22 performance scale. New achievement levels for the FAST scale will be available in summer of 2023.
FAST Assessments. Beginning with the 2022–23 school year, Florida’s statewide, standardized assessments in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics will be aligned with the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.).
In early 2024, all provisional scores for FAST assessments and B.E.S.T. EOC assessments taken prior to Winter 2023 will be replaced in FRS and the Family Portal with the B.E.S.T. retrofitted scores.

The Achievement Level Scale Scores including Learning Gains Subcategories chart contains the cut scores approved by the State Board of Education January 10, 2024 and the range of scores within each Achievement Level as well as Level 1 and Level 2 subcategories.
Standard Setting. Standards are the content or skills that are expected of students (i.e., content standards), which are often defined by a score for purposes of measurement (i.e., performance standards).
