Dulles International is continuing to build on our investments in speeding check in and screening processes for both domestic and international travelers. From biometric screening using CLEAR, to mobile passport apps and automated passport kiosks, we’re committed to the optimum speed and convenience of every passenger.
CLEAR enrollment kiosks are located in the Terminal Building, Departures Level - Ticketing/Check-In, near the East and West Security Checkpoints. The kiosks are open during the same operating hours as the Checkpoints (5:00 am-8:00 pm).
You can check in 24 hours before your flight. Make sure to have the necessary travel documents if you’re traveling internationally, like your passport or visa. If a destination requires you to have a visa, you can verify it through the Travel-Ready Center or with a United agent at the airport.
All arriving international passengers and luggage, with the exception of those arriving from pre-cleared points of origin, must be screened by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Make sure to collect all of your luggage before exiting the CBP facility; re-entry is not allowed.
When the Airport opened in 1962, passengers had to walk only 200 feet once they entered the Terminal until they were seated in the Mobile Lounge for the short trip directly to their aircraft, a unique service offered only at Dulles.
