20 maj 2018 · I need to calculate a lot of distances between several cities in Germany which are identified by a postal code, e.g. 10115 for Berlin. I cannot use the Google Maps Distance Matrix API because it would be way too expensive for the amount of requests (even with caching).

Air line is a two step process: Find the geo coordinates for the address (geocoding) and calculate the great circle distance. For route planning it depends if the service you use does this for you. That said: Look into e.g. Google Maps Api.
21 maj 2019 · I am trying to create a program to find the distance between two user inputted cities in java. I've looked at a few other posts, and I've seen the Geocoder API recommended, to get the lat and lang values for the cities.
30 kwi 2012 · I am looking for a way to calculate approximate distance between two UK postcodes (distance in the straight line is good enough) for analysing data. Preferably easily accessible from java, but C#, native C++ etc. are fine as well.
Postcode distance calculator How this works 1. All the postcodes are simultaneously sent to Mapbox API, associated co-ordinates are received in reply 2. Rudimentary mathematics is run on each set of co-ordinates (Pythagoras) 3. The output is formatted as CSV for sorting with spreadsheet software etc.
