Economic Geography. Basic spatial and location concepts in economic geography: 1. Location (situation): Location is the geographical situation of a particular phenomenon; its point or position in space. It is usually measured by distance and direction.
Distance, a core attribute of transportation, can be represented in a variety of ways, ranging from a simple Euclidean distance – a straight line between two locations – to what can be called logistical distance; the complete set of required tasks so that distance can be overcome.
