Generally? From where I am in Toronto (yes I know that's nowhere near Seattle) flights to Lisbon are often the cheapest direct flights to Europe. Transferring in NYC often creates cheaper options but is not worth the hassle IMO.
Reykjavik, by far and large, is the cheapest city to fly to Europe from the US. The problem, however, is that Iceland is far from continental Europe so you would need an additional flight to go anywhere else.
