April 28, 2022. One of the most common scams in air travel, according to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), is what we'll call the Fake Fare Flimflam. The perpetrators of this particular con take advantage of bargain seekers willing to believe in too-good-to-be-true airfares found online.
Scammer companies post low prices that do not exist. After you place your order, you'll get an email that says "Your reservation is still pending, you have to call us because there's an issue". So you call, and voila... the $290 flight you thought you got a great deal on magically becomes a $680 flight.
2 reviews. GB. 2 days ago. This company scammed me. They asked for £535 for direct flight and paid. Got an email to called them and then told me my outbound was not available. I requested a new flight and told me I had to pay £400 for a new one and the £535 offer was out the window.
I tried them to book a very cheap flight. I went through the process, and at the end I just got to a page that said something like "enter the code from the email that we sent you to review your booking". But I never got any email. I checked my credit card, and the charge appeared as pending (twice, as a matter of fact).
It probably is a legit (i.e. legal) company but that doesn't make it a good idea to use. Airfares are rarely "live" and when you try to book, you are sent an email requesting more money for the higher fare. If you try to cancel, you will get your money back months later, if at all.
